Questions people ask
- Can I take photographs inside?
- Not everywhere. Photography is restricted or forbidden in some sections and the staff enforce it. Large bags and suitcases may also be refused at the door.
- How accessible is it?
- Parts of the palace involve stairs, and visitor numbers are managed so there can be short waits between sections. Ask us before you book if that matters for your group.
- Is it near the old city?
- No. Dolmabahçe is on the Bosphorus at Beşiktaş, a tram and a short walk from Sultanahmet. Plan it as its own half day rather than squeezing it beside Hagia Sophia.
